Priest Lake man dies in car crash in Bonner County

A Priest Lake man died in a car crash in Bonner County Saturday afternoon.

Idaho State Police say there was a crash involving two cars on State Highway 57 near milepost 21, just south of Priest Lake.

Police say a 41-year-old man from Priest River was driving north on Highway 57 when he went left of the center lane and entered the southbound lane.

A 44-year-old man from Couer d'Alene was traveling south on Highway 57. The two cars collided head-on, on a curve in the roadway.

The Priest Lake man died from his injuries at the scene. His next of kin was notified. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

The Couer d'Alene man was wearing a seat belt and had non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
