Destiny 2’s Basso Ostinato is a solid shotgun choice for PvE and PvP activities. Here’s how to get it and the God Rolls players should look out for.

Quick Links
Destiny 2’s Basso Ostinato is an excellent shotgun to use in the game, and its God Rolls for PvE and PvP make it all the better. The new Legendary Void weapon was introduced with the Lightfall expansion and the new Neomuna region. It is important to note that this shotgun is unrelated to Season 20, also known as the Season of Defiance. The current season also brought along a set of weapons, but Basso Ostinato is not a part of it.
The seasonal set includes many well-received weapons, including the Legendary Auto Rifle Perpetualis in Destiny 2. While these are obtained through seasonal activities, getting Destiny 2’s Basso Ostinato shotgun and farming its God Rolls is quite different. Luckily, it is quite easy and can be done even after the end of Year 6 since it is related to the Lightfall expansion.
Basso Ostinato Drop Location

The Basso Ostinato shotgun in Destiny 2 can be obtained exclusively on Neomuna. This is a regional weapon and, as such, can only be grabbed at that location. Basso Ostinato is not a guaranteed drop in activity, so players will likely have to participate in many before even seeing a copy of the shotgun. Additionally, given how precise God Rolls are, they will likely have to farm the weapon until they obtain a copy with the desired perks.
Destiny 2’s Basso Ostinato drops from various activities across Neomuna. Much like the Round Robin Hand Cannon in Destiny 2, players can get the shotgun from Terminal Overload chests, Patrols, and as random rewards from leveling Nimbus’ ranks. The main difference is that while the Round Robin can be Deepsight-farmed and then crafted, the Basso Ostinato shotgun does not have an unlockable pattern for weapon shaping.
Basso Ostinato PvE & PvP God Rolls

Because Destiny 2’s Basso Ostinato lacks a pattern, players cannot shape and reshape the shotgun to their own leisure and, subsequently, God Rolls for PvE or PvP. As such, it is necessary to farm the weapon by traditional methods – dropping it from the aforementioned activities until the proper perk combination shows up. Though it is not particularly hard, it may be highly time-consuming to obtain a God Roll in Destiny 2, especially without the possibility of crafting and customizing the weapon. In the table below, players can check Basso Ostinato’s God Rolls for PvE and PvP, according to Light.gg and AOTF, respectively.
Basso Ostinato PvE God Roll | Perks |
|---|---|
Barrel | Rifled Barrel or Smoothbore |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Trait 1 | Envious Assassin or Lead From Gold |
Trait 2 | Destabilizing Rounds |
Origin Trait | Nanotech Tracer Rockets |
Basso Ostinato PvP God Roll | Perks |
Barrel | Smoothbore |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Trait 1 | Perpetual Motion or Grave Robber |
Trait 2 | Opening Shot |
Origin Trait | Nanotech Tracer Rockets |
While Destiny 2’s Basso Ostinato is not the best shotgun for either PvE or PvP, it is still a solid option for either type of activity. The new Neomuna weapon has an explosive power with its Origin trait, which is in sync with the PvE build’s Destabilizing Rounds. Additionally, by using Volatile Rounds in Destiny 2, players should be able to destroy multiple opponents at once.
Basso Ostinato’s PvE God Roll goes along well with Void Builds in Destiny 2 : Lightfall .
